LOCNVILLE is one of the country’s most successful pop duos. Twins Andrew and Brian Chaplin are constantly travelling and recording new music, so they need gadgets that can keep up with them. Andrew tells us about his love for his Macbook Pro and Brian chats about his Snug portable charger.

How does your Macbook Pro help you in your career as a musician? My Macbook is integral in my career – it’s what I use to produce music. I’ve had it for just over two years and it has really helped both me and Brian take our music to the next level. Would you say that this is a must-have gadget for musicians/producers? It’s not even a question, it’s essential. It can handle everything that I need to do, from messaging and email to in-depth music production and video editing. It has a lot of power, speed and – most importantly – reliability. The Macbook Pro is crucial to my business and my life and any other serious producer has to have one as well. What edge does your Mac have over any other laptop that you’ve used in the past? Pure speed and performance. I run heavy software all the time, and it takes a lot of processing power to deal with all of that. The Mac’s speed makes my work a lot easier.

You’re a guy that’s always on the go. Before you had your portable charger, did you ever get into a situation where your phone died when you really needed it? I remember landing in Los Angeles and I needed my phone to organise picking up the rental car as well as getting the keys for the accommodation while I was there. Unfortunately, because I’d been in such a rush to board the flight, my phone was dead and I had to run around Los Angeles in the middle of a heatwave trying to get everything together. Needless to say, it wasn’t one of my favourite days, but everything worked out in the end. How has having the Snug portable charger made your life easier? It’s just made it possible for me to charge my phone anywhere I am and because the battery of the Snug itself lasts so long, I don’t need to constantly recharge it. The Snug portable charger has two outputs that can charge an iphone from empty to 100 per cent seven times. Since I use my phone so much in what I do, it has become imperative when I travel. How long have you had your charger? Not long, actually; about four months. I had a portable charger before the Snug, but it wasn’t nearly as good. Why Snug? Why did you choose this brand? To be honest, it was the only brand the store had that could charge two devices at a time. So on a whim, I bought it, but I have to say it’s the best portable charger I’ve had so far. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is constantly on the go.
