Keeping my sawbench clean has been much easier thanks to a short length of half-round PVC guttering. I mounted gutter brackets at one end of the table to hold the gutter loosely. Sawdust and other mess can be easily swept into the gutter, which tips – without spilling – into the bin.

Secondly, I always use a sacrificial board on top of the saw bed. I move it sideways slightly to prevent burring on the underside if I want a clean cut. The Perspex pointer (pictured) is used to level the bed. It fits on in place of the blade.
