UNDER ARMOUR HOVR
Our preferred training brand’s third bite at the energy return foam cherry is pronounced “hover” and is encased in a mesh weave inside of a Charged and Micro G (the company’s other proprietary foams) midsole. Yes, both shoemakers are trying to battle the almost ubiquitous Adidas Boost technology and that raises the intrigue because, for Under Armour at least, this would be an important differentiator. HOVR foam is a polyolefin (the same polymer used in airplane and car insulation) and in the research paper developer Dow Labs states that the material showed better elastic response than EVA foams, demonstrated by a lower final strain and faster recovery. Test findings were observed at room temperature.
