HUAWEI P SMART

When Mr Zhao, general manager of Huawei South Africa first told us that 2:1 displays were coming to the entire Huawei range, we were understandably sceptical. Then P Smart broke cover and it changed things substantially. The heart of the P Smart experience is the 1080p 5,65-inch Fullvision (Huawei’s name for 18:9 aspect ratio) LCD screen. This is powered by Huawei’s mid-range Kirin 659 octa-core processor, a Mali-t830 MP2 graphics chip and 3 GB of RAM.

Round back is a dual camera in 13 MP + 2 MP configuration, which will enable portrait mode and result in minor improvements in low light performance. The selfie camera is the 8 MP sensor from the P10 lineage. The package size is slightly (2 mm) taller than Samsung’s Galaxy S8, but almost identical to its latest competitor listed below. Huawei should launch the P11 soon, which will sport a compact twist on a similar design.
