Ev­ery lu­nar cy­cle, TESS ob­serves one sec­tion of the sky. (Each cam­era takes one quar­ter-sec­tion.) The area of ma­jor over­lap, cir­cled in black, of­fers more data. This is where the James Webb Space Tele­scope will fo­cus in fol­low-up mis­sions.
