The Johannesburg Planetarium
Wits Planetarium, University of the Witwatersrand, Braamfontein, Joburg
This historic Planetarium was the first full-sized one in Africa and only the second in the Southern Hemisphere at the time of its opening. While Cape Town’s planetarium just received digital upgrades, this Zeiss projector first went into service on 12 October 1960. Entrance fees are R50 for adults and R35 for kids.
