Coupé d’état

-

If the 8-cylinder AMG C63 represents something akin to a wild animal, the 6-cylinder AMG C43 is a tamed and trained animal. We got to test-drive one of these tamed animals in the form of the Mercedes-amg C43 Coupé, at the heart of which beats an ultra-smooth 3.0-litre V6 biturbo that delivers 270 kw of power and 520 Nm of torque, coupled to a 9G-TRONIC sports transmission. Complements of sportier timing and higher charge pressure, this engine delivers on every performance promise while the AMG Sports exhaust emits a beautiful sonorous sound, especially so as the AMG Dynamic Select system engages double-declutching during downshifts in Sport+ mode.

The AMG Sports Suspension provides two suspension levels – comfort and sport – which is complemented with the AMG Performance 4MATIC allwheel drive system for enhanced driving dynamics and improved traction when accelerating. The result is staggering as this car delivers unprecedented handling, even under extreme acceleration and cornering.

The new AMG C43 Coupé offers uninhibited performance and sporty styling that takes nothing away from the distinctive luxury inherent to Mercedes-amg. This is an exceptional car that offers a value alternative to the insanely powerful AMG C63, crucially without compromising on the unique AMG character.

Pricing starts at R928,100 excluding optional extras.
