Top Eskom job filled

ESKOM yes­ter­day ap­pointed its chief in­for­ma­tion of­fi­cer and group ex­ec­u­tive for in­for­ma­tion tech­nol­ogy, Sean Maritz, as its in­terim group chief ex­ec­u­tive, ef­fec­tive im­me­di­ately, on a ro­ta­tional ba­sis.

Maritz will re­place Johnny Dladla, who has oc­cu­pied the role of in­terim group chief ex­ec­u­tive since June fol­low­ing the sus­pen­sion of another in­terim group chief ex­ec­u­tive, Mat­shela Koko.

Dladla will re­sume his role as the chief ex­ec­u­tive of Eskom Rotek In­dus­tries.

Eskom said the board had de­cided to ro­tate ex­ec­u­tives in this role to en­sure ex­po­sure. It said it was im­per­a­tive that the role of its group chief ex­ec­u­tive be filled per­ma­nently to em­bed or­gan­i­sa­tional sta­bil­ity. As a re­sult, the re­cruit­ment process for a per­ma­nent chief ex­ec­u­tive would be­gin in due course. – ANA
