Deal with EFF will ensure campus calm

Pretoria News Weekend - - NEWS -

THE dispute between 12 EFF student leaders and the Tshwane South College has been resolved amicably – and no further unlawful protests will be allowed.

The matter appeared briefly at the North Gauteng High Court yesterday with student command leaders from Atteridgeville huddled outside the courtroom in their red EFF T-shirts.

It is understood that, as part of the agreement, the students would permit the resumption of lectures.

Tshwane South College acquired an interim interdict on September 1, barring students from taking part in violent protests. Protests erupted at certain campuses after no action was taken on the public protector’s report on maladministration, nepotism, victimisation of whistleblowers and corruption at Tshwane South College. – Staff Reporter
