Boys’ coach in court
The former water polo assistant coach accused of preying on students from Parktown Boys’ High School in Johannesburg, made a brief appearance yesterday in the South Gauteng High Court, where his matter was postponed.
The 22-year-old man, who cannot be named because he has not yet pleaded, faces 160 charges ranging from rape, sexual assault, and attempted murder.
His lawyer requested the postponement, which was agreed to by the State Prosecutor, Arveena Persad, and sanctioned by Judge Mmonoa Teffo in chambers.
The accused’s R3 000 bail was extended and his matter was postponed to November 22. – ANA
