De­lay in KFC case

FOUR of the five Pre­to­ria men ac­cused of as­sault­ing Ja­cob Sono and his wife Dudu at a KFC driv­ethrough fa­cil­ity were re­manded in cus­tody un­til Oc­to­ber 18 by the Pre­to­ria North Mag­is­trate’s Court.

Stephen Nel, 39, Joshua Scholtz, 21, Dicky Ju­nior van Rooyen, 21, and Mar­ius Hard­ing, 23, were re­manded by Mag­is­trate Motl­hoki Ra­pu­lana.

Hard­ing pre­vi­ously aban­doned his bail ap­pli­ca­tion, while the fifth ac­cused, Or­ck­ert Muller, 20, was granted R5 000 bail fol­low­ing their ar­rest early last month. Muller will re­turn to court next month with his co-ac­cused.

Yes­ter­day, the pros­e­cu­tion re­quested the post­pone­ment.
