‘Clean, flaw­less ex­ams’

THE COUN­CIL for Qual­ity As­sur­ance in Gen­eral and Fur­ther Ed­u­ca­tion and Train­ing body, Umalusi, said dras­tic mea­sures would be taken against any­one found guilty of any ir­reg­u­lar­i­ties.

“We want clean and flaw­less ex­am­i­na­tions,” chief ex­ec­u­tive Dr Mafu Rakometsi said dur­ing an as­sess­ment of the state of readi­ness of the 2017 Na­tional Se­nior Cer­tifi­cate ex­am­i­na­tions.

As many as 634 814 full-time can­di­dates will sit for the ex­ams at 6 844 venues around the coun­try.

The ex­ams will be­gin on Oc­to­ber 23, with 112 164 can­di­dates be­ing from Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal hav­ing 169 023. – ANA
