PRESIDENT Jacob Zuma and his Kenyan counterpart, Uhuru Kenyatta, met in Durban yesterday and resolved to strengthen relations between the two countries.

The countries already enjoy warm bilateral relations and are strategic partners in many areas, particularly trade and security. “We discussed how our countries can work together… and improve connectivity in our continent for industrialisation to enable us to create jobs for our young people,” Kenyatta said. Zuma said the meeting was productive. “The slave trade, particularly in Libya, is something Africa cannot allow again. We need to give it serious attention.”
