Caro­line Mam­puru has been ap­point­ment Deputy Head of the Spe­cial In­ves­ti­gat­ing Unit.

She was pre­vi­ously Busi­ness Ex­ec­u­tive: In­ves­ti­ga­tions at the Au­di­tor-Gen­eral of South Africa, where she led the unit and over­saw its strate­gic di­rec­tion.

Mam­puru was also Chief Di­rec­tor: Pub­lic Ad­min­is­tra­tion In­ves­ti­ga­tions at the Pub­lic Ser­vice Com­mis­sion (PSC), where she led the plan­ning, ex­e­cu­tion and re­port­ing phases of in­ves­ti­ga­tions con­ducted by the PSC.

She pre­vi­ously worked as a Senior State Ad­vo­cate at the Na­tional Prose­cut­ing Au­thor­ity's As­set For­fei­ture Unit and as a Com­mis­sioner at the Com­mis­sion for Con­cil­i­a­tion Me­di­a­tion and Ar­bi­tra­tion. Prior to these roles, Mam­puru was a State Pros­e­cu­tor at the Mid­del­burg Mag­is­trate's Court.

She holds a B Proc de­gree and LLB, both from the for­mer Univer­sity of the North (cur­rently Univer­sity of Lim­popo) and Post Grad­u­ate Diploma − Ex­ec­u­tive De­vel­op­ment from UNISA Grad­u­ate School of Busi­ness Lead­er­ship.

In her new role, she will as­sist the head of the unit to man­age and over­see the run­ning of the busi­ness, ini­ti­ate and man­age high-level key stake­holder re­la­tions and drive busi­ness strat­egy and or­gan­i­sa­tional goals.
