LILY OF THE VILLAGE
Unique to the small village of Roossenekal in Mpumalanga, the Yellow Arum Lily draws crowds to this otherwise quiet dorpie for the annual Yellow Arum Lily Festival, taking place from 24 to 26 November 2017. It is the perfect excuse to take a road trip and explore the town while simultaneously enjoying the various acts which will be performed during the festival, including the likes of the Talented Hans Drommedaris, Symphony Duo, Diron Mini Circus, and Charlie Nash, as well as church choirs from local churches. The more active road trippers can register for either the 5 km, 15 km, 30 km, or 50 km mountain bike race which meanders through Mapoch’s Caves and surrounding areas. Entry costs for the festival will be R40 per person and R20 for pensioners and children aged two to 13 years.
