The gate­way be­tween the Boland re­gion in the Western Cape to the south and the plains of the Great Ka­roo to the north, Hex River Val­ley is the old­est and one of the largest ta­ble grape pro­duc­tion re­gions in South Africa. Not only does it pro­duce be­tween 16 and 18 mil­lion car­tons of grapes an­nu­ally, it also pro­vides a great get­away for road trip­pers.with two Tun­nel MTB and Bot­ter­boom hik­ing trails, and an aban­doned rail­way bi­cy­cle route that winds through some of the most beau­ti­ful spots in the re­gion, Hex River Val­ley is a great place to ex­plore if you are up for some out­door ac­tiv­ity.
