NEW AUTO, 4×4 MOD­ELS

FOR­TUNER & HILUX RANGES EX­PANDED

At long last, Toy­ota has ex­panded the Hilux and For­tuner ranges with auto trans­mis­sions and 4×4 de­riv­a­tives for the 2.4-litre mod­els. Six new Hilux 6-speed auto mod­els have been added to the ex­ist­ing 22-model range – a sin­gle-cab 2.4 GD-6 4×4 SRX model and a pair of 2.8 GD-6 Raider mod­els in either Raised Body (4×2) or 4×4 con­fig­u­ra­tion.

The Xtra cab line-up is sup­ple­mented with two new ‘self-shifters’, pair­ing the 2.8 GD-6 Raider with auto ’boxes in both 4×2 and 4×4 guises. Com­plet­ing the ad­di­tions is a new dou­ble-cab 2.4 GD-6 SRX auto. Other changes in­clude padded ure­thane door arm rests and Pi­ano Black door trim, with the Raider cen­tre con­sole lid now fin­ished in soft-touch leather.

Sin­gle cab SRX and Raider mod­els re­ceive Ve­hi­cle Sta­bil­ity Con­trol (VSC), Hill As­sist Con­trol (HAC), Trailer Sway Con­trol (TSC), and fog lamps, while the Raiders are now fit­ted with new 18-inch wheels and LED head­lamps with day­time run­ning lights, plus a

220V power out­let for the Raider dou­ble-cabs.

The new sin­gle-cab Hilux SRX auto re­tails for R436,800; the Raider auto ver­sions go for R497,400 and R435,700 re­spec­tively; the Xtra-cab for R462, 200; the 2.8 Raider 4×4 for R525,800; and the 2.4 SRX auto for R495,700.

In the For­tuner range, a new 2.4 GD-6 4×4 with 6-speed au­to­matic trans­mis­sion has been added.this de­riv­a­tive, with a price tag of R506,000, should prove very pop­u­lar. The 2.4 GD-6 and 2.7 mod­els have also re­ceived new safety spec­i­fi­ca­tions, in­clud­ing driver knee airbag, as well as side and cur­tain airbags. In the 2.8 GD-6 andv6 mod­els an elec­tri­cally-op­er­ated tail­gate and 220V ac­ces­sory con­nec­tor as well as LED fog lamps has been added.
