If ex­pan­sive open-mind­ed­ness and the en­cour­age­ment to share knowl­edge through­out the com­mu­nity ap­peals to you,afrik­aburn, a re­gional Burn­ing Man event that takes place in Tankwa in the Ka­roo ev­ery year, is an ex­pe­ri­ence that will re­main em­bed­ded in your heart for­ever. Based on the prin­ci­ples of Burn­ing Man of Ne­vada,afrik­aburn is not a mu­sic fes­ti­val, nor is it a hippy gath­er­ing. In­stead, it is a space that in­spires self-ex­pres­sion, rad­i­cal sel­f­re­liance, and com­mu­nal ef­fort and aims to be pro­foundly inclusive and ac­ces­si­ble to ev­ery­one and any­one.art is, of course, a ma­jor el­e­ment of the event and each year, an as­sort­ment of cre­ative par­tic­i­pants from around the world come to­gether to cre­ate strik­ing burn­ing struc­tures, don elab­o­rate cos­tumes, par­tic­i­pate in per­for­mances and theme camps, drive weird and won­der­ful mu­tant ve­hi­cles around the desert and much, much more.tak­ing place this year from 23 – 29 April.
