UVA MIRA MOUNTAIN VINEYARDS
Perched high on the slopes of the Helderberg Mountain Range, Uva Mira Mountain Vineyards presents breath-taking views over Gordon’s Bay, False Bay, and Table Bay in the distance.
Uva Mira, meaning “The Wonderful Grape” is located within the area widely recognised as the “Golden Triangle”, renowned for its noble grape varieties and wines of outstanding quality. Here each wine tells nature’s own story as it captures the essence of a terroir amplified by cool sea breezes, a granite foundation, and mineral rich soil, all covered by acres of fynbos. As with each wine, each label tells its own story that reaches back through generations of family, and even further back in time and space to Mira, the red binary star in the constellation of Cetus, hundreds of light-years away.
With a vision to merge traditional winemaking with innovative technology, winemaker Christiaan Coetzee creates wines of an international standard in six varietals, namely Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Merlot, Shiraz, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Inspired by the mandate of owner Tobie Venter to create the best wines in the world, the young winemaker has already taken giant steps towards fulfilling this ambition, as evidenced by a plethora of prestigious wine awards that adorn the wines in the Uva Mira portfolio.
From prestigious marques to making wines of exceptional quality, Tobie Venter seems to have the Midas-touch, and if his unparalleled success in bringing Porsche, Bentley, and Lamborghini to South Africa – not to mention his redevelopment of the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit – is anything to go by, then Uva Mira is destined for even greater success.
