“New shoes, socks or shorts – or maybe a singlet as fancy as mine?”
My friend isn’t a runner, and in preparation for his first marathon, he’s planning to run only
shouldn’t be throwing the word ‘yay!’ around so carelessly – ‘booyah!’ or ‘boom!’ is more appropriate. You dig?
Secondly, it’s totally okay to do whatever the hell you want to in life (within reason). You don’t need permission from me.
Being kitted out to the max won’t get you far if you don’t have the discipline to follow your challenge through. Some runners have all the gear and no idea.
But the fact you had to wager that what got you this far is good enough for now. And if you do buy a new pair of shoes, be sure to wear them in for a good few weeks before your race – you don’t want to be dealing with blisters in the first 20km.
