• The Ata­cama Cross­ing is one of the main events in the 4 Deserts Race Se­ries, to­gether with the Gobi March in China, the Sa­hara Race (cur­rently run in Namibia) and the Last Desert in Antarc­tica. • Each race cov­ers 250km, over seven days, and is self- sup­ported: only wa­ter and a tent are pro­vided. • It’s con­sid­ered one of the world’s most pres­tigous en­durance races. • In 2010, South African trail leg­end Ryan San­des be­came the first run­ner to win all four races. • For more in­for­ma­tion about the se­ries, visit
