Incorrect allegation

IN RESPONSE to the complaint by Jeff Katz and Ben Swartz of the South African Jewish Board of Deputies, relating to the story, “In pursuit of justice for Palestinians, Rohingya” that appeared in the September 17 edition of Saturday Star, we apologise for repeating an incorrect allegation made in November 2015 by The Star and other newspapers falling within the Independent Media group.

This was that the South African authorities had committed to arresting senior Israeli military leaders at the behest of the Turkish government, should they ever enter the country.

This is not the case.
