TREVOR Noah is host­ing the Global Cit­i­zen Fes­ti­val: Man­dela 100 in Joburg in De­cem­ber.

The cel­e­bra­tory event at the FNB sta­dium on De­cem­ber 2 fea­tures a host of in­ter­na­tional stars in­clud­ing Be­y­oncé, Jay-z, Ed Sheeran, Ed­die Vedder, Phar­rell Wil­liams, Usher and Chris Martin.

Noah joins a line-up of co-hosts in­clud­ing Naomi Camp­bell, Sir Bob Geldof, Gayle King, Tyler Perry and For­est Whi­taker. Oprah Win­frey is due to de­liver a spe­cial key­note ad­dress.

“I am where I am to­day, liv­ing as a free South African, be­cause of much of what he did, and so I’m be­yond ex­cited to be team­ing up with so many oth­ers to pay trib­ute to the man in his home coun­try,” Noah said. Tick­ets are not sold for the event; rather they have to be earned by show­ing sup­port for causes.
