Cel­e­brat­ing a Cen­tury of Flow­ers

The Dar­ling Wild­flower Show, from 14 to 17 Septem­ber 2017, will be cel­e­brat­ing its 100th year and prom­ises to be bet­ter than ever. Cel­e­brat­ing an in­te­gral part of the Cape Floral King­dom – which com­prises of fyn­bos such as renos­ter­veld, ri­etveld, sand­veld, and strand­veld, and where over 1,200 dif­fer­ent species of flow­ers can be found – the show will fo­cus on the Wild­flower So­ci­ety’s de­vel­op­ment over the past cen­tury. This, as well as the Her­bar­ium Project and a va­ri­ety of fun activities to en­ter­tain the whole fam­ily, will have vis­i­tors en­thralled for the whole week­end. Food and craft stalls, a play area for chil­dren, as well as a Mini wine Route and Beer Tent for adults will en­sure that there is never a dull mo­ment. En­trance fees will go to­wards the con­ser­va­tion of the en­dan­gered floral king­dom so that fu­ture gen­er­a­tions can bask in the beauty of the won­der­ful flora that abounds in the Cape.
