Entering a New Era

Glasses in place of a helmet, smart clothing, full balance without a kickstand – these are merely three of the many innovative creations that could become standard for motorcycles in an increasingly digitised world. The vision for this perfect vehicle is already here: BMW Motorrad’s Vision Next 100.

Vision Next 100 is BMW Motorrad’s idea for a time when mobility is more diverse and interconnected – a time when digitalisation takes on a shape which we today perceive to be surreal.

Edgar Heinrich, Head of Design at BMW Motorrad, drafted this future scenario along with his design team and designed the BMW Motorrad Vision Next 100 concept. “When we develop a motorcycle, we are usually thinking around five to 10 years in the future. So, taking a look further into the future was especially exciting for us,” Heinrich says.

Motorrad built this concept on the idea that within 30 years all vehicles will be driving around autonomously, and life will be crammed up in cities and organised by means of digital services – everything will be more digitalised, interconnected, and automated.
