Elgin Open Gardens

South African Country Life - - October Diary -

Elgin Open Gardens are carrying on as usual despite the drought. Enjoy 18 open gardens, including three new ones: Carmel, an interesting work-in-progress on a sloping site with a steep walk along a succession of ponds; Ridgelands, an old garden now well restored from the 1920s with the largest tulip tree in the country; and Lady Bourne’s old garden Luborne, not yet restored but still with many of its old trees and shrubs and some of the layout still intact.

Who can deny that October is the mooiste,

mooiste maand, so let's embrace the first rains

and celebrate the great outdoors
