De­part­ment ta­kes he­alth ser­vi­ces to the people

The Mi­nis­ter of He­alth Dr Aaron Mot­so­a­le­di cor­di­al­ly in­vi­tes mem­bers of the pu­blic to at­tend the Ro­ta­ry Fa­mi­ly He­alth Days cam­paign, which ser­ves to bring in­te­gra­ted he­alth ser­vi­ces clo­ser to the com­mu­ni­ties as part of the de­part­ment’s acce­le­ra­ted he­alth pro­gram­me. This an­nu­al cam­paign will be rol­led-out si­mul­ta­ne­ous­ly in 120 si­tes/a­re­as o­ver a pe­ri­od of three days a­cross the coun­try bet­ween 3 until 5 Oc­to­ber. The cam­paign gi­ves im­pe­tus to the de­part­ment’s ef­forts to en­s­u­re in­te­gra­ted mass he­alth scree­n­ings in a bid to pro­mo­te he­althy li­fe­sty­les. Mem­bers of the com­mu­ni­ties at­ten­ding the­se e­vents will re­cei­ve free he­alth ser­vi­ces in­clu­ding the fol­lo­wing: • HIV Tes­ting and Coun­sel­ling • TB Scree­n­ing and Tes­ting • Di­a­be­tes Scree­n­ing • Hy­per­ten­si­on Scree­n­ing • Pro­vi­si­on of con­tra­cep­ti­ves • Im­mu­ni­za­ti­ons • He­pa­ti­tis Scree­n­ing, etc. So­me of the­se 120 si­tes will al­so of­fer d­rug and sub­stan­ce a­bu­se coun­se­ling, in­for­ma­ti­on on S­heCon­quers - a cam­paign for A­do­les­cent Gi­rls and Young Wo­men, me­as­les in­o­cu­la­ti­on, po­lio drops, vo­lun­ta­ry ma­le ci­r­cum­ci­si­on ser­vi­ces and he­althy li­fe­sty­le education. Ad­di­ti­o­nal ser­vi­ces will in­clu­de op­to­me­try, den­ti­stry, men­tal he­alth and mo­re.
