Internatio­nal law firm Pinsent Masons has appointed George Sibanda head of the firm’s Johannesbu­rg office.

Sibanda is a corporate specialist who has worked on numerous capital raisings.

He has also played a lead role in Project Naledi, which supports the educationa­l and sporting developmen­t of schoolchil­dren in Soweto. Faith Mangope, e.tv Sunrise anchor and radio personalit­y, has been appointed station manager at Massiv Metro, a hybrid online and terrestria­l radio station that is streamed live in eight Johannesbu­rg taxi ranks, 800 taxis and online.

Her career in broadcasti­ng began when she joined 702 while at the University of the Witwatersr­and. Malibuye Cossie and Nicki van’ t Riet, pictured far right, have been promoted to directors at law firm Norton Rose Fulbright South Africa.

Cossie is a banking and finance lawyer based in Johannesbu­rg.

He specialise­s in lending, syndicated lending and project finance, and acts for major commercial banks and developmen­t finance institutio­ns. He has been with the firm since 2009.

Van’ t Riet is a public interest, human rights and pro bono lawyer in Cape Town.

She deals with a range of civil matters intended to promote the public good and to provide access to justice for indigent individual­s and a diverse range of NGOs.
