There is nothing quite like a gym session

to kick off a Sunday morning. I return home and cook up some good breakfast. A good, healthy and nutritious breakfast after a session in the gym really opens up my mind and opens up my energy and spirit for positive vibes going into the new week. I will then binge on some of my favourite series, catching up on all the episodes I’ve missed due to my rather hectic schedule.

Sunday afternoons are my favourite time

to be outdoors, especially in summer. I go out for lunch and drinks with my friends — somewhere like Altitude (if I’m doing something in

Pretoria) or the San Deck (if I’m in Johannesburg). I absolutely enjoy beautiful rooftop venues with incredible views of the sunset accompanied by some really great company and equally great food.

Sundays were made for Metro FM’s The Love Movement.

They play some of the greatest tunes in R&B. The music always brings back a lot of childhood memories for me and makes me feel like I have a little piece of home with me every Sunday.

The evenings are strictly “Orapeleng time”.

I prefer to be in my own calm space preparing for the week ahead, because I strongly believe that being productive is all about preparation. Having a great week does not start on Monday — it starts on Sunday night. It begins with what you set in your mind and prep yourself for. I will typically then curl up on the couch and settle down for some Sunday TV.

My dream Sunday, however, would be spent back home

in Kimberley in the Northern Cape. There is always something so special about being home. It gives me a sense of purpose and direction. It allows me to reflect and to rejuvenate the mind, body and soul whenever I feel a little overwhelmed or when I’ve been working too hard. It’s a very sacred space that I hold so dear to my heart. Being home and around my people makes me very happy and at extreme peace.

I would definitely spend it with my mother.

I miss the good old days of just spending time with her. Being in Johannesburg and being constantly busy, I never take the time out to catch up with her and just have a good old chat. I have taken so much knowledge from my mother and I still look to her for comfort and advice. She has always been my rock and has always been my biggest cheerleader. I really couldn’t imagine a perfect Sunday without my mother.

There is nothing like a good home-cooked Sunday lunch.

I would definitely indulge myself in some marinated quarter chicken, some beef stew with roasted vegetables. It has to be my mother’s favourite “Sunday best” meal, as she would call it. I would enjoy this meal around my mother’s dining-room table with my family. It would definitely be the greatest meal enjoying her cooking on a Sunday afternoon.

Curling up on the couch on a Sunday evening

has to be the most relaxing and calm thing anyone could ever do for themselves. I would curl up with Oprah Winfrey’s compilation of quotes titled Own It: Oprah Winfrey in Her Own Words, which is my current read. Oprah is one of the greatest minds of our time and taking lessons from her life and how she has built her businesses and her name is a constant inspiration to me as an entrepreneur.
