Buffalo in the room

It was a busy week in parliament as Hogarth’s colleagues found themselves shuttling from one budget vote to the next. At the breakfast briefing by Public Service and Administration Minister Ayanda Dlodlo, the big five animals were in the house. The minister told her audience her budget vote had been broken into “the big five key areas of strategic areas”.

When she outlined key focus area No 3, “restructuring of the government — the buffalo”, there were giggles in the house.

“And please, ladies and gentlemen, here I’m not talking about the president,” said Dlodlo in jest.
