Bezos racks up Amazonian fortune
Jeff Bezos is the richest person in modern history.
The Amazon.com founder’s net worth cracked $150-billion (about R2-trillion) in New York on Monday, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index — about $55-billion more than Microsoft cofounder Bill Gates, the second-richest person.
Bezos crossed the threshold as Amazon was preparing to kick off its 36hour summer sales event, Prime Day.
