THE KIMBERLEY, AUSTRALIA SHOAL OF NEON DAMSEL FISH ON COASTAL CORAL REEF, INDIAN OCEAN
This remote territory in the northernmost region of Western Australia covers some 421,451km², an area three times the size of England. Despite being home to some of the world’s most stress-resistant coral, in 2016 the in-shore Kimberley reefs were devastated by the most severe global bleaching event yet recorded.
