Whatever tickles your fancy
IT was a risqué night, to say the least, from the buff butlers to the potty-mouthed drag queen and the nimble pole dancers.
They had all gathered for 50 Shades of Tickler, a launch event for Swedish sex toy brand Tickler in South Africa, at Durban’s Rocca Bar last Friday.
The event aroused the interest of young women, clearly interested in some naughty-but-nice fun, most of them dressed to impress in leather and lace.
Like bees to honey, they flocked to the brawny butlers, in black bow-ties and butt-hugging pants.
Perhaps it was the brilliant smiles they flashed, or the shots of flavoured tequila they graciously served.
Almost every one of the revellers, including Caryn Roux and Tamyra Usher, was eager to pose for pictures with the would-be Chippendales, who lapped up the attention.
VIP guests were ushered to private booths upstairs, where snack platters awaited them.
Guests gawped when drag queen Honey, accompanied by two scantily clad sidekicks, made a grand entrance on a giant pink penis draped in a feather boa.
Honey’s outfit, a black bustier, red mini, fishnet stockings and heels, left little to the imagination.
“She” got guests into the spirit of the evening with shooters and naughty jokes.
Agile pole dancers thrilled many with their erotic acrobatics.
“They’ve become one with the pole,” one guest gasped.
Entertainment aside, Tickler South Africa’s Angela Spencer said the aim of the event — Friday’s was the first of a few planned for the year — would encourage women to embrace their sexuality by using sex toys. “I’m hoping to break the taboo mindset people have of the sex industry.”
The next event she is planning is likely to be aboard a five-star catamaran, and aimed not only at women but their partners too.
