Conditions: Sunny. Rock and Surf: Fishing in the Durban Harbour has been rather mediocre this past week. However, the Durban beachfront is still producing some very nice edible fish like stumpies, pompano and grunter, caught on sealice and mussels. The sardine run seems to have begun, with reports of large shoals being caught in Scottburgh, but the KZN Sharks Board is warning that one netting of 110 crates of sardines does not mean a sardine run. emanzimtoti to Port Shepstone has been very active, with some excellent catches of kob, garrick, kingies and pompano. Weekly tip: Shelley Beach and Port Shepstone: garrick have been coming out on live bait, drop shot and plugs.
