Murder-suicide includes family dog
MAPLETON: A family of four in Utah, US, and their dog have been found dead with gunshot wounds in an apparent murder-suicide, police said on Friday.
The bodies of a man, woman, teenage girl and young boy were found on Thursday night inside their home in the northern city of Mapleton, police Chief John Jackson said.
Officers were called to the home after neighbours reported that the family had not been seen for days, but their lights had stayed on and their cars had not moved. – AP
Mass turtle deaths caused by poisoning
SAN SALVADOR: Hundreds of sea turtles found dead off the coast of El Salvador had died of poisoning after ingesting microalgae, a toxicological study has revealed.
The deaths was linked to a so-called red tide algal bloom which produces toxins fatal to the turtles.
Between 300 and 400 dead sea turtles were washed up in Jiquilisco Bay at the end of last month. – DPA
