Court sequel to the murder of girl, 9
THE family of 9-year-old Sadia Sukhraj, who was shot dead in Shallcross last year, say they have full confidence in the judicial system, ahead of the trial of the man accused of murdering her.
Representatives of the family will attend the trial of Sibonelo Mkhize at the Durban High Court this week.
Sadia’s father, Pastor Shailendra Sukhraj, is expected to testify. In May she was shot in the chest while seated in a stationary vehicle outside her grandparents’ home.
Her father had parked there while dropping off Sadia’s then 7-month-old brother, before he was to take her to school.
Spokesperson for the family, Pastor Cyril Pillay, said: “It is faith that is keeping the family strong. We all have full confidence in the justice system.”
