Shame on you, SA’S cruel ‘leaders’
In the wake of the nationwide lockdown due to COVID-19, government and humanitarian organisations stepped in to assist indigent families with basic necessities such as food, which were distributed as parcels.
While this move is widely commended, it was very sad to read about political leaders who saw an opportunity to loot and exploit this great gesture. We have seen stories of community leaders being arrested for food-parcel fraud.
Poor people were left helpless by the greedy leaders in charge of the process of food-parcel distribution. What kind of leaders choose to capitalise on an unfortunate situation to fill their own stomachs and those of their friends?
I appeal to our leaders to display a high level of morality by acting in a manner that seeks to build society.
