FORMER boxing champion Dingaan Thobela is knocking on prison’s door.

Thobela faces arrest after his halfbrother, Bongani Ndlalane, opened a case of perjury against him at Kagiso police station on Thursday.

This came after Thobela allegedly lied that Ndlalane pulled a gun on him at Leratong Hospital, where Thobela s father was being treated for a bullet wound.

The old man was shot by unknown criminals at Thobela’s Zuurbekom plot in March.

Ndlalane was arrested and detained for a night as a result of Thobela s story.

He gained his freedom the following day after the Krugersdorp Magistrate s Court dismissed the case on the grounds that there was no prima facie evidence to prosecute.

Ndlalane confirmed that he opened a case of perjury against Thobela.

I feel that Dingaan must pay for his sins. He lied about me pulling a gun on him and that has damaged my reputation.

I have witnesses who can give evidence that I did not do it. If anything, he is the one who insulted his mother by calling her a slut,” he said.

Thobela was adamant that Ndlalane pulled a gun on him and said he would defend himself in court.

Police spokesman Andile Vanqa confirmed that Ndlalane opened a case of perjury against Thobela.
