SUPERSPORT soccer commentator Baba Mthethwa seems to be playing cat and mouse with the man he accuses of trying to kill him.
The case against Rampharele Lesley Boshielo was postponed again in the Secunda Magistrate s Court on Friday.
He is due to appear for the fifth time on May 19 for attempted murder and malicious damage to property.
Boshielo (45), a Vaal University of Technology lecturer and Sasol employee, allegedly fired shots at Mthethwa s house on December 7.
One of the bullets went through the garage door and hit the back of Mthethwa’s Lexus.
Boshielo apparently took matters into his own hands because he suspected that Mthethwa, who is married, was doing the nasty with his wife, Veronica, a sergeant at Secunda police station.
In his affidavit, Boshielo said his wife confessed to the affair, and that he forgave her after getting counselling from a pastor.
Zakir Rasool, Boshielo’s lawyer, said the state asked for a postponement because Mthethwa failed to attend the court proceedings.
We have tried on many occasions to mediate and settle this matter out of court, but this man [Mthethwa] is not co-operating, said Rasool.
Mthethwa refused to comment when contacted.
He later responded with an SMS that read: God bless you.”
