Honeymoon over for ANC

Sunday World - - Opinion -

THE masses voted the ANC back into power to ensure continuity.

But the problem with the ruling party is that it doesn’t seem to prioritise the grievances that its members have noted during their campaigns for votes. The voters expect to see implementation after voting the ANC back into power.

Politicians often treat us like garden tools, using us to nurture their crops. When there’s fruit, they keep the tools in the garage and enjoy the fruits alone.

I am eager to see how the party will improve on service delivery. The honeymoon is over. It is time to work. I hope it focuses some of its energy on rural development so that many of us who migrated to big cities in search for a better life can move back to our villages. It’s time to prove to us that every vote is important to develop our country.
