Celebrating women

Sunday World - - Special Project - Idols

JUST because someone’s name is mentioned for an event, it doesn’t mean they are part of it.

Take Zoleka Mandela and the SHE Forum, for instance.

The invite to the event, held at the Protea Hotel Fire & Ice! Melrose Arch last week, read: Zoleka Mandela joins the SHE Forum in commemoration of Women’s Month and empowering underprivileged women.”

But the girl arrived two hours late in the brightest of outfits ever, with hair to match.

If she was not announced, Shwa would have mistaken her for an

contestant in the making. But on the real, the outfit was great, just for the wrong occasion.

She walked in with a fine brother who turned some gogos’ heads.

The brief was that she would share her life experiences, but that didn’t happen either. Other random women spoke... Yawn!

Anyhoo, Shwa is not a fan of these Women s Day celebrations, which come once like a damn leap year.

So, Shwa called it a day and bounced.

After all, Women s Day is every day.
