THE SA Revenue Service’s detector dog unit confiscated heroin to the value of R7.9-million at Lebombo border post on Thursday. They did this with the help of one of their narcotics detector dogs.
The drugs, wrapped in 25 yellow parcels, were found hidden in the door panels and behind the driver seat of an Opel Corsa bakkie entering South Africa from Mozambique. The parcels weighed 26.6kg in total.
The suspect was arrested on suspicion of contravening the Customs and Excise Act and Drug Trafficking Act.
