Question: Tell us about your job.

Answer: I have been in real estate for the past 22 years. I started my career in King William’s Town and then relocated to Cape Town with my husband 12 years ago, where I joined Seeff Properties.

Q: What made you get into that line of work?

A: After my second son was born, I wanted to continue working but needed to find something that I could do that was a lot more flexible.

A friend of mine was opening an estate agency in King and was looking for someone to assist her. I joined her on a morning-only basis and then the bug bit. So, I enjoyed meeting people and being able to assist them finding their perfect home and seeing the delight on sellers’ faces when they’d sold their homes.

Q: Describe the most memorable experience that you have had in your line of work.

A: The highlight of my career has been selling amazing properties in the suburb of Bishopscourt in Cape Town.

Q: What do you do to unwind when you are not working?

A: My husband and I both enjoy the outdoors and love exploring new places.

I also enjoy walking, cycling and spending time with family and friends.

Q: What is your motto in life?

A: Always put yourself in the other person’s shoes. If you can’t say anything nice then don’t say anything at all. Q: What makes you happy? A: Knowing my God, my husband, my children, my grandchildren and living in our very special home in Port Alfred. Q: What makes you angry? A: Seeing children and animals suffer.

Q: What do you think about the youth of South Africa? Do you have any advice for them?

A: A very difficult time for the youth growing up . . . however, I do feel education is important. Try to be positive and have respect not only for yourself but others too.

Q: What do you like most about Port Alfred?

A: The beaches, the Kowie River, the rural environment, the friendly folk, and also the fact that it takes just a few minutes to get anywhere in the town. No traffic . . . fantastic.

Q: If you could change one thing about Port Alfred …

A: It would have to be the potholes in a lot of the roads, the verges along the roads that need to be cleaned and also a lot of the older buildings that need a facelift.

Q: What is your favourite music of all time?

A: Queen and Robbie Williams.

Q: Name three people you would like to invite for dinner (dead or alive)?

A: Sister Theresa, My husband, Michael, and my late father, Eddy.

Q: Three wishes for South Africa?

A: Economic growth, quality education and a God-loving nation.
