WHILE driving down Southwell Road on Saturday local resident Diederick Stopforth noticed something peculiar at the rear entrance to Distinctive Kitchens on Biscay Road.

“Diederick saw a broken garage door and pulled in to the car park behind the shop. He was the person who contacted the police,” said Penny Devenish, who co-owns Distinctive Kitchens by Timber Town along with husband Charles.

“The alarm was on, but it wasn’t triggered,” said Devenish, whose premises is protected by Sky Alarms, with its company office next door to Distinctive Kitchens.

It appears that the thief or thieves used a long lever to break the door-lock and then entered from the rear of the building. They managed to escape capture with a workshop of tools.

Devenish was pleased that nothing more was taken.

“I would just like to say a big thank you to Diederick. You have restored my faith in the human spirit,” she said.
