Tees on course for Nemato Golf Club
NEMATO SPAR, in a bid to assist the Nemato Golf Club’s initiative to afford township youth the opportunity of extracurricular activities, sponsored the club with golf shirts last week.
Nemato Golf Club chairman Mzwandile Mgweba and president Msitheli George Mbomboyi were the ecstatic recipients of sponsored golf shirts with the Nemato SPAR logo showing their solidarity with the club.
“We thought of SPAR because they have affordable prices, and cater to our community [as] most of their customers come from Nemato,” Mgweba said.
Speaking on the desired outcomes of this sponsorship, Mgweba also spoke on developing golf for the youth in the community.
“What we want to achieve from this is the development of disadvantaged golfers in preparation for the development of our golf course near 43 Air School, and for our fundraiser tournament on October 1,” Mgweba said.
Nemato SPAR store manager, Roche Vorster, was glad to help, and wished the best for the sport’s development in Nemato. He said he was inspired to help because of what the golf club leaders had told him.
“The reality of their story is that they don’t have a lot, and they are trying to use sport to bring the community together and give the youth a fighting chance,” Vorster said.
