FORMER COUNCILLOR ARRESTED FOR SHOPLIFTING
A FORMER Ndlambe councillor was arrested for shoplifting at the Sunshine SPAR in Kenton-on-Sea on Monday afternoon.
The man, who may not be named until he appears in court, was allegedly caught on the CCTV cameras stealing body lotion, deodorant and medication for pain and fever.
A source tipped TotT off to the incident, which was confirmed by police spokeswoman Captain Mali Govender.
She said the 45-year-old suspect was released on a written warning to appear in court on September 28. The value of the stolen item was R127.
The suspect was a councillor until the municipal election last year and also holds positions in the Marselle branch of the ANC and in the ANC subregion.
