Waste of Makana money

Talk of the Town - - Opinion - SUZETTE LAMPIER GRIST

OH dear, what a thoroughly vitriolic letter from “Scary” (sic) Njadayi last week. So much for reconciliation. What a complete waste of money when there is none in the Makana Municipality coffers.

What about repairing the infrastructure and helping the needy – all colours?

By law, a final decision on the renaming of Grahamstown [to Makhanda] can only be made after the Minister of Arts and Culture has considered objections to the proposed name change received within 30 days of the publication of the notice in the Government Gazette.

Objections must be addressed to Leonah Smith, personal secretary of the Minister of Arts and Culture, Mr Nathi Mthethwa.

They should refer to Government Notice No 641 in Government Gazette No 41738 of June 29 2018.
