Cor­rupt man­ager jailed for 12 years

A gen­eral man­ager for an Eastern Cape de­vel­op­ment trust has been sen­tenced to 12 years im­pris­on­ment for cor­rup­tion in­volv­ing R3 mil­lion.

Direc­torate for Pri­or­ity Crime In­ves­ti­ga­tion (Hawks) spokesper­son Cap­tain Anelisa Feni said yes­ter­day Sa­muel Ban­zana, 54, was sen­tenced to 12 years by the Port El­iz­a­beth Com­mer­cial Crime court.

“As a man­ager of Mzingisi De­vel­op­ment Trust, Ban­zana so­licited bribes to award build­ing con­tracts for hundreds of houses in Port El­iz­a­beth,” Feni said. – ANA
