SA’s soccer team is a disgrace

The Citizen (Gauteng) - - LETTERS -

The decision taken by Safa regarding the replay game against Senegal was totally wrong. This was a good chance to punish these lazy bunch of losers who are not proudly South Africans.

Safa should have snubbed Fifa and be prepared to serve the suspension, either five or 10 years, so that these players could feel the pain of not playing international games for that period.

The country would have nothing to lose but we will be saving a lot of money that we are wasting on these hopeless players.

We have seen better determined players than these. Some won Afcon, others reached Afcon finals and others came third in this continental competition – but this current squad can’t even qualify to be there.

The only competition they qualify for is the Cosafa Cup.

South Africans, let’s be honest, our soccer team is really a disgrace. Amos Motloding, Jamela Village
