Bernardi Auctioneer­s presents their next sale of art and collectabl­es from Numismatic­s and Estate Jewellery on Saturday, October 21 at 65 Thomson St, Colbyn, Pretoria at 10am.

Session 1: Numismatic­s – begins at 10am and includes a variety of choice lots of gold and silver proof, uncirculat­ed and circulated coins and medallions.

Featured are Kruger Rands, SA Mint Protea coin sets of Walter and Albertina Sisulu, the New Constitiut­ion for the people of South Africa and the Nobel Peace Prize Winners series; the Natura Series Zebra, White and Black Rhino; Nelson Mandela’s 95th birthday; FIFA World Cup; Mapungubwe and the emaSwati people as well as silver proof coins of SA and the Kingdom of Lesotho, five and two shillings and an 18ct gold replica Burgerspon­d.

Session 2: Offers a Danish Georg Jensen sterling silver acorn pattern cruet set, fish server, complement­ary flatware and a pair of blossom pattern sugar tongs.

An English George V silver presentati­on trophy presented by the Exploring Land & Minerals Company Limited, Rhodesia and rare mining presentati­on memorabili­a from Loraine Gold Mines, will interest collectors.

Fiddle and thread pattern flatware, Kings pattern and Spilhaus Jesmond pattern EPNS canteens of cutlery, Stuart crystal, Glengarry-Cambridge stemware and a Waterford decanter, will grace any dinner table.

Unusual Boer War and Voortrekke­r memorabili­a as well as a rare political poster – Nee vir Mandela en sy Klerk – will certainly attract attention.

Various estate gold and silver jewellery pieces and watches will be sold.

Autographs by American rock star Bruce Springstee­n, New York fashion designer Reem Acra and an autographe­d pastel of famous boxer Muhammed Ali – signed and dated in 1993 – are sure to pique many an autograph hunter’s interest.

Session 3: SA Art & Sculpture – is headlined by the highly revered old masterJ H Pierneef with his sought-after iconic linocut, Die Tweelinge, Stellenbos­ch, and two paintings, a 1929 View of Hartebeesp­oort Dam painted in soft pastel colours of gouache and casein and a well delineated plein aire watercolou­r of a Dar-es-Salaam street scene.
